“WHAT GETS MEASURED GETS DONE”

HOW WE MEASURE RESULTS

It would be impossible to gauge the effectiveness of a leadership coaching program without an objective, consistent, and quantifiable measurement tool. Over the past 15 years, Marshall Goldsmith, the founder of the “Stakeholder Centered Coaching Program” has developed a highly reliable system for measuring leadership effectiveness.

We deploy this technique, based on surveys administered online, at three intervals during a typical year-long “Stakeholder Centered Coaching” engagement: at the outset; a six month mini survey, to measure progress; and another at 12 months, to determine the overall effectiveness of the program (for longer programs).

These mini-surveys are customized to the specific leadership challenges associated with each subject, and are administered to a representative sample of key stakeholders—typically the subject’s employees, colleagues and superiors.

The results of these surveys are tabulated, aggregated and compared over time to yield a highly accurate picture of positive behavioral change over time.

Over 50% of respondents felt that leaders had improved in overall leadership effectiveness at a “+2” and “+3” level. Over 78% respondents felt leaders had improved at a “+1”, “+2” and “+3” level. Nineteen percent of respondents felt leaders did not change, while nearly 3% felt leaders got worse.

Involving stakeholders throughout the coaching process and using these mini-surveys as a leadership growth progress review are highly effective methods to increase successful leader’s effectiveness. These progress measures are done for all leaders choosing to enroll in our “Stakeholder Centered Coaching Program” (see below).
